A win over Fulham has propelled Liverpool up to second in the Premier League standings.

Liverpool is now tied with Arsenal for the top spot in the Premier League after defeating Fulham 3-1 on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Jota, Gravenberch, and Alexander-Arnold. Both sides are locked at 74 points with five games remaining, though Arsenal leads on goal difference. Manchester City sits just behind in third with 73 points, but they still have a game in hand.
Liverpool drew level with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League standings with a 3-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, thanks to goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, and Diogo Jota. Liverpool trails Arsenal on goal difference, with both teams on 74 points and five games remaining, while defending champions Manchester City, who are third on 73 points, still have a game in hand.

After the heartbreak of a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last week, Sunday's win breathed new life into Liverpool's championship pursuit. A highlight of the match was Trent Alexander-Arnold's return to the starting XI for the first time since February 10; he opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a brilliant free kick that flew into the top corner, leaving the keeper with no chance. This marked his sixth goal scored directly from a set piece.

Fulham momentarily narrowed the gap before halftime when Timothy Castagne found the net with a precise side-footed shot past Alisson. The lead was restored in the 53rd minute when Harvey Elliott pounced on a poor Fulham pass in the center of the pitch and fed Gravenberch, who curled a shot into the far post to register his first goal in the league.

The victory was sealed in the 72nd minute by Diogo Jota, who fired a low shot into the far corner following a pass from Cody Gakpo, marking his 100th goal for an English club across all competitions. This clash came only three days after a disappointing Europa League quarterfinal exit to Atalanta. Interestingly, Klopp opted to start without Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Alexis MacAllister, bringing the trio on as substitutes in the 74th minute.

Speaking to the BBC, Jurgen Klopp noted that his team played exceptionally well for about 80 minutes. While he was dissatisfied with the final ten minutes of the first half—which allowed Fulham to score—he was delighted with the second-half performance. He praised the team's ability to retain possession and create high-quality chances, adding that the substitutions worked well and the players responded effectively.

In other action, Crystal Palace dominated West Ham United in a 5-2 rout on Sunday. The Palace squad stormed to a massive lead, netting four goals within the first 31 minutes, highlighted by a spectacular bicycle kick from Eberechi Eze in the 16th minute. Jean-Philippe Mateta added to the tally with two goals, while Michail Antonio and Dean Henderson provided the consolation goals for West Ham.
