Tamil Thalaivas exhibited a stellar show in raiding and defending to crush Telugu Titans 54-29 to conclude the Hyderabad leg of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Wednesday. Tamil Thalaivas silenced the strident home crowd with an impressive performance on the mat. The Thalaivas secured a well-deserved victory with an amazing defensive performance that included 24 tackle points and three Super Tackles.
Key contributors for the Thalaivas included Ajinkya Pawar and Narender Hoshiyar, who continued their strong form with 11 and 10 points, while captain Sagar secured eight tackle points. Himanshu also added 7 points to the score. For the Titans, captain Pawan Sehrawat started the match, signaling that he and coach Srinivas Reddy had moved past their recent conflict. Pawan finished with 10 points, with Ajit Pawar and Hamid Nader contributing 7 and 6 points, respectively.
The match began slowly for the home team, but they quickly gained the upper hand by neutralizing Narender to get on the scoreboard. In the fifth minute, Pawan shifted the energy of the game with a Super Raid, giving the Titans a slim 4-3 lead. The Thalaivas were under pressure as their squad size dwindled, but the tide turned when Himanshu executed a Super Tackle on Sehrawat, keeping the Thalaivas in the fight and allowing them to regain control.
For the first ten minutes, the contest remained tight, with the visitors holding a narrow 7-6 lead. However, the Titans' defense eventually collapsed, leading to their first All Out. By halftime, the Thalaivas had surged ahead to a 20-11 lead.
The second half saw the Thalaivas tighten their grip, showing even more strength in their defense. They triggered a second All Out just six minutes in to lead 29-15, and shortly after, a third All Out pushed the score to 38-18.
As the clock wound down, the Thalaivas were comfortably in control. Despite Pawan Sehrawat's individual effort of 10 points, the Titans couldn't do much to stop the onslaught in front of their own fans. A final Super Tackle on Sehrawat in the closing minute put a perfect seal on the Thalaivas' victory. It was a grim result for the Hyderabad-based team, who end their home stretch with only one win and three losses, leaving them at the bottom of the table.
In another match earlier that day, Dabang Delhi secured a narrow 35-32 victory over the Haryana Steelers in a nail-biting finish. Ashu Malik was the standout for Delhi with 14 raid points, while Siddharth Desai fought hard to earn a Super 10 for the Steelers.
