In a dramatic finish, Manish Pandey (71* off 47 balls) launched a six over long-on off the all-rounder's final ball, equalizing the score and forcing the first-ever Super Over in Wankhede Stadium history.

While pursuing a target of 163, Hyderabad found themselves needing 41 runs from the last 18 deliveries. Malinga conceded 12 runs during this stretch, bringing the required total down to 29 runs from the final 12 balls.

Jasprit Bumrah (2-31) then gave up 12 runs in the second-to-last over, during which Manish Pandey managed to hit two boundaries.

In the first innings, Quinton De Kock anchored the home side with an unbeaten 69, helping them post a competitive score on a challenging surface.
